Thrust Carbon’s Mark Corbett named in travel’s 25 most influential

Written by Ellen Laird on 14 December, 2022

In a resounding endorsement of the role of Thrust Carbon in driving systemic, sustainable change across travel, founder Mark Corbett has been named as one of the industry’s top 25 most influential persons.

In the hotly anticipated BTN annual ranking, Mark features alongside many CEOs of global travel organisations, including Bob Jordan, of Southwest Airlines, Paul Abbott of AMEX GBT and Ariel Cohen of TripActions.

As the only leader on the industry list in sustainability, it is a testament to the Thrust Carbon team’s ever growing impact, influence, and ability to deliver pan-industry solutions to reduce emissions at scale.

Extract, written by Amon Cohen: Though pleased with Thrust Carbon’s progress, “the caveat is that we are still scratching the surface,” said Corbett. “We have rolled out carbon budgets with our clients, but fully integrating that into travel management company and online booking tools still takes a huge amount of effort.

Most influential 25

Also making the list is the remarkable John Morhous, Flight Centre Travel Group Chief Experience Officer. John is one of the leading figures responsible for driving sustainability as a service within FCTG and for bringing Thrust Carbon into their ecosystem. So thank you John, and congratulations!

Also from the Thrust Carbon client list, is the awe-inspiring Suzanne Neufang, CEO of GBTA, who led a culture turnaround, a rebrand, and of course, was instrumental in driving forward their position as a leader in taking climate action. Working alongside Thrust Carbon, you can now see their flagship event emissions and reduction plans. They are truly walking the walk, and here to help shephard the industry to net zero.

In addition to industry leaders, the list also features global government figures due to their role in either aiding - or slowing - the global recovery.
