Who is Thrust Carbon?
Thrust Carbon is a science-first, data-obsessed team of climate advocates dedicated to creating a sustainable future for travel. We provide market-leading solutions to accurately report and effectively reduce carbon emissions. We help our clients comply with a complex set of sustainability regulations, create climate-smart strategies, and make tangible advances toward net-zero. We believe in a world where our actions don't have to cost the earth.
Origins of Thrust Carbon
The foundational concept that became Thrust Carbon was developed at an innovation competition run by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Our founders, Kit and Mark, competed to create a solution that encouraged more people to consider carbon offsetting when booking a flight.
At a time when offsetting was a ‘black hole’ for money, with questionable outcomes, their solution was a tool that displayed actual flight emissions and offsets that were locally available to the customer.
They won the competition, and the event catapulted them into early conversations with customers and set a trajectory for exploring the travel industry in depth. They quickly realized the solution to the climate crisis does not live in offsetting, it lives in data.

To tackle climate change, the solutions must be effortless and realistic. This is especially true when it comes to travel.
Our progress
We've made great progress since we started out in 2019. Along the way, we invented the world’s first tools for carbon budgets, created the first point-of-sale-ready APIs for carbon calculations, and pioneered research and methodologies that are now used throughout the travel industry.
Today, we touch over $100bn of annual travel spend and decarbonize some of the world's largest travel travel programs. We've even collected some awards along our journey.

We also publicly report on our emissions, and whilst our impact is relatively low, we know the importance of having a transparent commitment to decarbonization— for our customers, our prospects and our employees.
Near-term
Thrust Carbon Ltd commits to reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2021 base year, and to measure and reduce its Scope 3 emissions
Long-term
Thrust Carbon Ltd commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2035 from a 2021 base year
