LONDON, 16 September 2026. Thrust Carbon has launched Pre-Trip Briefings, a new EngageAI capability that layers company policy and live, city-specific context into targeted, behaviour-changing guidance.

Corporate travel has a persistent problem: policies exist, but travellers don’t read them. Most travel decisions are made quickly, out of habit and out-of-policy, which drives up cost, emissions and expense admin. Stricter rules and travel freezes only dampen morale without changing the behaviour.

Pre-Trip Briefings take a different approach: reaching the traveller 24–48 hours before they go, with guidance built for exactly where they’re headed. Each briefing layers context that was impossible to bring together at scale before AI:

  • Company policy made specific. EngageAI reads a client’s policy and surfaces what applies to this trip: per diems, expensing, booking guidance.
  • Live, city guidance. It highlights safety information, live rail status, traffic data, weather data, or anything that will impact traveller experience, and turns generic policy messages into targeted, personalised advice.

“AI finally lets us close the gap between having a travel policy and acting on it,” said Kit Aspen, CEO of Thrust Carbon. “A policy sitting in a shared drive changes nobody’s behaviour. A short, relevant message the day before you travel, that knows where you’re going and what good looks like in that city, will bring that policy to life.”

There is still further development of Pre-Trip Briefings in the pipeline. The next step in Thrust Carbon’s context layering approach to nudges will bring traveller specific information into the briefing, such as their historical travel data and expense habits.

“AI gets better with more context,” said Robbie Moore, Head of Engineering at Thrust Carbon. “We’re already building the next layer: using a traveller’s own behaviour and habits to tailor the message to them. Every layer of context we add makes the guidance more specific to the traveller, and that’s what changes behaviour.”
